Whether you are a sneaker head with a massive collection or just someone who loves to rock some fresh kicks, we have some of this year’s most impressive releases for you to take a peek at. We may only be in June but already there have been some fire releases from the world’s biggest sneaker companies and we have rounded up our 4 favorite releases for you to have a look at. This year is set to promise plenty more kicks coming out but for now these are the hottest to have hit the shelves.
Travis Scott Nike Air Jordan 1 Cactus Jack
Travis Scott has once again teamed up with Nike to re-invent the Nike Air Jordan 1, an iconic shoe which has been given the full Cactus Jack makeover. Scott has opted to use mocha, white and black coloring on the sneakers and has inverted the swoosh to give the shoe a whole new appearance. At the back of the shoe we can see Scott’s Cactus Jack design and you’ll even find a cool velcro stash pocket on the tongue. The original was iconic, this re-imagined model may well reach the same status.
Overkill x Adidas Consortium ZX 10,000C
This collab between Adidas Consortium and Overkill – sneaker design house out of Berlin – has had plenty of tongues wagging and the resulting design is absolutely outstanding. The color of the sneakers is an amalgamation of the color schemes on the other ZX releases and features flashes of yellow, blue, purple and emerald to create a show stopping design. These collectable shoes were sold in 3s with a left and a right of the same design, with a third sneaker to use however you may wish, sneaker heads are buying up the second boxes to find the pair for the 3rd shoe.
New Balance V5
The 990 New Balance series has cemented the company’s place in sneaker history and the V3 and V4 are widely considered iconic and timeless classics. The newly released V5 continues right where the 3 and the 4 left off and offers a design which can be used in all occasions. These trainers can be worn with suits, jeans, shorts and dresses and they have also managed to retain that classic New Balance design of simplicity and beauty, get them in your collection.
Cactus Plant flea Market x Nike VaporMax
Our zaniest and in truth our favorite release of the year has been this reworking of the Nike VaporMax which was created by designer Cynthia Liu, the first ever female non-athlete who has created a shoe with the sneaker giants. Cynthia completely flipped the design of the original, using garden wire to redesign the swoosh, opting for bold, metallic colors on the bubbles of the sole and adding an unconventional smiley face on the heel. These sneakers have been made to be more rugged, more impactful and completely off the wall, and we love them. If you want to get your hands on these then you may have a hard job as production was limited.
